As well as being biodegradable, these napkins and placemats are also compostable

They are converted into organic fertiliser

After all, you may be thinking “but all materials are biodegradable”. You’re right, but as well as biodegrading over an extremely short period of time, these napkins and placemats are also compostable.

This means that biodegradable Air-Laid products are converted into compost or organic fertiliser that helps plants grow. What is more, human action is involved in creating this fertiliser from biodegradable napkins and placemats, which makes the decomposition times even shorter.

In La Pajarita we wager on disposable products

In our continual search for social well-being and taking care of the environment, we have decided to incorporate this line of biodegradable and compostable napkins and tablecloths into our products.

Disposable tablecloths and napkins help society not damage the environment that surrounds us. Thus doing our bit to contribute to making the world a better and more habitable place for future generations.

COMPLETELY CERTIFIED RANGE

Having a product line so aware of protecting the environment bears with it a responsibility on our part to our providers. That’s why we have all the necessary certificates required so these Air-laid and Paper products are compostable and biodegradable.

Tablecloths and napkins certified by the Compostable seal

This seal, known as Seedling, certifies that our products from the BIO range comply with the European normative EN 13432.

This normative ratifies that the napkins and tablecloths that form part of this family comply with all the necessary characteristics to be considered a compostable material. The main requirement is that the material has completely broken down within 12 weeks.

The new biodegradable napkins and placements in the Air-Laid Line have Ecolabel certification

Ecolabel is a system created by the European Union in the year 1992. It aims to promote commercialisation of environmentally respectful products and services. Its purpose is to encourage products that reduce negative environmental effects, contributing to effective use of resources and a high level of environmental protection.

This label guides the consumer, providing precise, trustworthy information on these products that protect the environment.

Compostable ink

For designer prints and personalizations on the materials in this range, and to make protecting the environment complete, we use organic inks from natural vegetable oil and water-based inks.

These are inks that reduce the environmental impact implicit in the printing process, also minimizing the percentage of chemical components in the products used in its production.

FSC Certification

All the raw material used in the product range BIO are FSC certified, which accredits that the wood used to make these tablecloths and napkins comes from forests managed in accordance with criteria of the Forest Stewardship Council.

This includes, amongst other things, measures for a sustainable management of the forest from ecology, social, and economic aspects.

PEFC Certified

This label guarantees that the products carrying the label come from forests managed in a responsible manner and that the forest’s tons of uses are protected for present and future generations.

That a product has this certification by the PEFC means buyers are helping fight illegal logging and fomenting the main purpose forest resources play on our planet.
